Ever since the first 3D animation movie “Toy’s Story” made the debut in the movie industry it opens up a whole new era for us viewing movie or anything we see on TV. It makes impossible angle shots becomes possible. It makes the stunt that is too dangerous to perform become an easy task. Today, nearly out of 10 commercials on the TV there are 7 of them either made by the 3D animation program or using it to support the ad. All these massive animation in today’s life inspires me a lot.
My thesis is about creating a series of short animations that achieve realistic special effects which often seen in present day TV commercials and movies. The realistic special effects can vary from car crash to meteor shower. Most of these short animation effects will be done by Autodesk Maya 8 and other supported animation software. The whole process should be starting off modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, and finally lighting. Modeling part as well might be furnishing in ZBrush. All these short animating effects will be composting to real life footage. In a way to creates out a much more realistic feeling for this short effect. My goal for this project is to create animation that is difficult to film or seemingly impossible to produce through a regular camera angle in real life.
